A teaser...

Just thought I'd post a quick pic of my little lady. Here's Millie in the hat her Aunt Kristin gave her, it's still pretty big, but she looks pretty darn cute regardless.

Millie McCay

...is finally here! (and I promise I'll add pictures soon, I'm just super tired and overwhelmed with a million things to do!) We went in bright and early on the 21st to be induced...turns out Millie had decided she was coming that day regardless. I had been up since around 1:00 am, thinking I was just too excited to sleep, and my hips were hurting (they had been for the last month or so), and I just thought it was getting worse because she was dropping. Once we were checked in and I was hooked up, turns out I was having contractions every 3-5 minutes, and was dilated to a 4-5, 100% effaced. My doctor came in and broke my water, and within 4 hours I was dilated to a 10. Millie wasn't as far down as they would like so my wonderful nurse Sheri had me labor for a little while to try to let her move down a little. It was decided at noon I would start pushing. Noon rolled around and John, Sheri and I got to work. I ended up pushing for 3 hours, and Millie was just not coming out-her poor little head was stuck and I was getting EXHAUSTED. I had had a few breaks in there, so it ended up being close to 4:00 when the Dr. came in to talk about a C-section. Millie wasn't showing any signs of distress, so we waited for an OR, and went in. Thank God John was able to come in and be with me, I was tired and frustrated and really needed his support. Finally at 4:50 Millie made her grand entrance. She was born 8lbs 3oz, 20.5 inches long. She had some battle wounds from her tough day, her poor little head and shoulder were bruised up, but she's tough. She and I are both doing great, she's a sleeping, eating, pooping machine already. John, Millie and I were able to leave the hospital late last night and got to bring her home to meet her doggies. It's probably the most amazing thing ever, John and I are so lucky to have little Millie!

Big Day Tomorrow

Well friends, looks like tomorrow's the big day. John and I spent the day cleaning, and just kind of hanging out with each other waiting for Millie. The bags are packed, the carseat is in the Jeep-now I just need to be able to fall asleep tonight! We check in tomorrow at 0600, and hopefully Millie is going to cooperate and everything goes smoothly. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers, we'll let you know how it goes soon!

Pretty Feet

Hey everyone! Well, I am still pregnant :) As of today I am 39 weeks 3 days, with only a few to go. I can say that, because unless Millie decides to come on her own (which I'm praying for) she will be evicted on Wednesday. My wonderful Dr has decided that because Millie is measuring pretty big, and apparently I have a narrow pelvis, that she thinks I'd benefit from a 40 weeker instead of a 42 weeker. Make sense? Besides, as of last week I was dilated to a 3 and at least 70% effaced. Apparently even though I haven't had contractions my body is getting ready.

In other news, it's been a pretty good weekend. Yesterday Jess, my sister-in-law, her husband Justin and my niece Josie came into town and stopped by for a visit. Jess took me for a pedicure trying to get things moving (hence the pretty feet). Needless to say, I'm still pregnant, but every little bit helps, right? They stayed for the Gonzaga game, and John got to spend some time cuddling with Josie-he loved every minute of it! Even more good news, my sister Kristin and my nephew Landon are coming up to visit on February 06. I'm so excited!! Let the countdown begin.

38 weeks 2 days

So I know this is cheating (the scarf is hiding my HUGE belly) but I don't care :) As of today I am 38 weeks, 2 days pregnant. Holy Crap. I've been feeling alright, still getting around ok--just waiting for Millie to show up. At my 37 week appointment I had an ultrasound which showed Millie was head down (yay), and HUGE (uh-oh). It showed she has some big ol' cheeks (I think I'd be worried if she didn't) and the u/s tech said it looked like she has a bunch of hair. As of my last appointment, at 38 weeks, I am dilated to a 2 and 70% effaced, at a -1 station. This was pretty surprising to me, as I haven't had a single contraction that I'm aware of. That being said, our bags are packed and we're ready to head to the hospital whenever that may be. My next appointment is on Wednesday, the 14th so hopefully the Dr. will report even more progress. Oh, and that reminds me, we have compiled our "baby call/text list". If anyone wants to be added to it just drop me a note with your number if I don't have it. I think that's it for now, wish me luck!
